I was at the Bournemouth concert and I can remember the Rick Wakeman thing. I thought at the time that there was some kind of power failure, as no sound came out of Rick's keyboard eccept a loud swearing sound by Rick (forgive me Rick).

On the TFTO tour of 1973 I saw YES play at the Bournemouth Winter Gardens ­ Išm not sure which night it was, but I believe it was probably the Saturday (that would be Dec 17th). It was a challenge to listen to the whole of CTTE knowing that the second half of the concert would be TFTO ­ an album that was not yet out. My friend Steve Barclay and I had spent a Saturday evening trying to tune into Londonšs Capital Radio (70 miles away!) just for a sonic peek at side one ­ all 20 minutes of it. We taped it, in hopes of being prepared for the live performance. (A few days later we went to see the same show, at Londonšs Rainbow Theatre, and saw Chris Squirešs car, with a copy of TFTO on the back seat ­ we were so exciting, to see that it actually existed!)

Yet the most memorable part of the Winter Gardens concert for me occurred during CTTE, after IGUIGD, just before the whole band comes into to play the CTTE instrumental theme (prior to Rickšs organ solo). Rick Wakeman neglected to play the single note (repeated three times) intro to the theme (or did so, but was mixed out), and half the band came crashing in with the majestic CTTE themeŠ and the other half didnšt. After soldiering on for a few bars, they ground to a halt! The confusion on stage was extraordinary. Eventually they all looked at Rick, and he played the blessed notes, and they carried on, as if nothing had happened.
