My first actual Yes show (having seen Jon & the Band Geeks the year prior) I must say it was a very good show. I got to know Billy & Jay a few months before the show so they hooked my friends and I up with free tickets and backstage passes! I very excited to see Steve and Geoff for the first time as well. When we got to the venue I was very impressed by the venue itself. I thought the set was decent, I loved hearing cuts from close to the edge, Drama, Relayer but I could have done with out the tormato cuts that they featured, and to me some of these aren't even the best songs on the album. I do recall Steve calling this "The Dust Bowl" and him saying this was a great venue. Then came the main focus of the night, the Fragile album. Roundabout started and during the quiet middle part, People were shouting and Steve got annoyed and didn't play for a few seconds. I was curious how the band would work around it but I thing they've played it so often nothing can trip them up on it. A little later, Long Distance was played and it was very cool to finally see this song live! I thing there was one mistake by Jon during The Fish where can he came in on vocals a little early. During Mood for a day people were shouting at Steve and he looked mad again. The strangest part was the Beatles cover, which was actually really good! I asked Jay why they did it and he said Steve suggested it. After The Word, Steve introduced the band and said they would be back, maybe next year. But I really doubt this as it was their first time back in nebraska since 2013, and with the cancelled dates for yes this year, I Don't even think they'll be back in 2027. After the show, it was great to finally meet Billy & Jay and we said bye to them, but as I was leaving the venue I bumped into Billy again! During the ride home, my friend and I who had seen Jon Anderson last year asked ourselves which show was better. We both agreed Jon Anderson's show was a little better but not by much! Both shows were great! I really hope I get to Steve Howe perform agian and hopefully somewhere close to Nebraska!
