This was the Shrewsbury Technical College Ball - Blodwyn Pig were meant to headline. I was excited because Peter Banks had joined them and so I wanted to see him, even though I wasn't keen on Blodwyn Pig.

Then a couple of weeks beforehand, it was announced that Blodwyn Pig had cancelled and Yes were replacing them! So I was very happy.

They were supported by Chicken Shack - I remember Stan Webb, the lead guitarist, jumping off the stage and making his way deep into the audience still playing his guitar with the world's longest guitar lead.

Yes were brilliant - Tony Kaye was sporting a large plaster cast on his leg. Highlights for me were Steve Howe playing The Clap, which I hadn't heard before at that point and America.
